Are you…?

* Aged 14-25
* Identifying as LGBTQIA+
* Wanting to try something new
* Wanting to meet new people
* Ready to get creative?

If any of the above applies to you, why not join Project #2 – a creative initiative for young LGBTQ+ people aged 14-25 living in and around the City of Chester.

Project #2 is about coming together to explore Queer Histories of the past, present & future and finding ways to tell our stories and those of others. Sessions will run from January 2023 – August 2023 and we will work closely with Chester Pride, Cheshire Archives, Storyhouse and other partnering organisations to explore queer history together.

The project will culminate in a “creative exhibition” at Chester Pride 2023 that will be curated by the group. What this will consist of, YOU decide – dance, drama, singing, writing, photography, film, crafts, print work… or maybe something completely different. This is a youth led project and Project #2’s contribution to Chester Pride will be in YOUR hands.

This is a FREE project for young people to attend, meet others in their community, and learn about their history. No previous creative experience is necessary. Sign up to the project here:

We look forward to meeting you, and exploring our queer histories,

All the best,

Connor, Leah, Alex

(Queer Histories Team)

Behind the Scenes:

Project #2 is led by Cheshire-based dance artist Connor Elliman. It follows Project #1 which invited young LGBTQIA+ people to come along and find new ways of expressing themselves in a safe and friendly environment. From dance, drawing, writing, photography, to other creative arts, the group came together,  with the project culminating in a film that documented the journey, ideas and experiences of the participants in the group.

Project #2 looks to build on the success of Project #1 and give the chance for more identifying LGBTQIA+ people to come unite and celebrate their history within their culture and community.
