Winsford Creates Volunteering

Calling Volunteers for Winsford Creates!

We are seeking volunteers for Winsford Creates – Adventures through the arts! On 19th March there will be a free event in Winsford Town Centre to delight and excite families, young people and the community with dance performances, live bands, percussion parades, creative workshops, a Cine Window takeover, great food & drink… and a fantastic vibe!

The party continues at 7.30pm in collaboration with Eve’s on Delamere Street where Adventures in Winstopia invites the community to continue their adventures through a mix of live music, artwork giveaways for all…and pizza!

This event is part of Winsford Creates – Adventures through the Arts, a celebration of local arts and culture.

The Winsford Creates celebration event is produced by Cheshire Dance and forms part of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Reopening and Recovery programme, funded by the Governments Additional Restrictions Grant. It is supported by Winsford Town Council and Arts Council England.

Volunteer Roles for 2022:

We are looking for a number of local volunteers to help make the event a success. If you can spare time between 10am and 7pm on Saturday 19th March and would like to help support this celebration of local arts and culture then we want to hear from you! As a volunteer, you are key to a successful event by being an ambassador for Winsford and helping people to enjoy both the programme and the town itself. You will be given a briefing prior to your shift and work as a Winsford Creates Street Ambassador. This will mean working in pairs at some of the key locations in the town centre. As part of this role, you will need to answer questions about the event, Winsford Creates – Adventures through the Arts programme and the town centre –and generally be helpful to visitors.

What’s required from you as a volunteer?

  • All roles require people to be friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. You may be given a specific role but might need to help out in other ways. We are one team so ‘teamwork’ is essential.
  • You need to be 18 years old and above.
  • Most roles will require a good level of mobility including being on your feet for long periods of time – a good pair of comfy shoes is a must! If you do have concerns about this, we can ensure you are positioned in roles and locations that are not too demanding. Please let us know!

What will you be doing on the day?

  • Providing information on the festival and the wider regeneration programme
  • Directing attendees around the festival
  • Pointing out amenities
  • Creating a happy and fun atmosphere
  • Assisting performers and artists where necessary

We are asking people to commit to the following dates/times:

  • A Pre-event Briefing online: Thursday 17th March 12.30 – 1.30pm

OR Thursday 17th March 6pm – 7pm  (please select one of these times).

  • Event: Saturday 19th March, 10am briefing, festival from 11am – 7pm – Winsford Town Centre – or part of the day. If you can help for the whole day, that would be fantastic!

Volunteers will receive £15 in expenses towards the costs of their travel and food for the day and are invited to join Adventures in Winstopia at Eve’s from 7:30pm to relax and enjoy the evening programme.
