Lesya is stepping into the role of Dance Development Artist at Cheshire Dance.

She trained at Rambert School, where she achieved her BA in ballet and contemporary dance, before completing a Postgraduate Diploma at London Contemporary Dance School. She then went on to perform with Danish Dance Theatre for a year in Copenhagen, touring with the company.

On returning to the UK, Lesya began her freelance career as both a performer and facilitator, where she discovered a passion for community dance. Since then, she has developed her skills in facilitation across schools, early years, and with people with SEND.

Lesya has worked with a wide range of companies and organisations, that have enhanced her community dance practice. Including DanceEast, SLiDE, Fabric (Nottingham), Artis, Déda, Next Door Dance, The Lowry, and now Cheshire Dance. Her practice places a strong emphasis on making dance accessible to all and on finding joy through movement. Alongside her dance work, Lesya is also a qualified yoga teacher, bringing a holistic and inclusive approach to the sessions she leads.

Lastly Lesya also helps to run Inklingroom, a dance platform and event series exploring contemporary dance and electronic music, through community workshops, performances and events.
