Person centred practice with a belief that every move made with intention is valuable underpins Jan’s work as an independent dance artist with 35 years’ experience.
Over the years she has worked in education (nursery, primary, secondary, HE and FE, mainstream and special education), community (all ages, physicalities and intellects), health (mental health, ageing), prison service (prisons, probation services), delivering at conferences, delivering CPD for teachers and dance artists, research, project management, performance, and choreography. In recent years, she has mainly concentrated on large projects delivered by Cheshire Dance.
Since moving to the North West 23 years ago, Jan has made strong connections with all the dance organisations in the NW, has always advocated for the voice of the dance artist and currently is a representative on the Artist Led for Artists group.
Jan was awarded her MA Dance Studies from John Moore’s University Liverpool, a BEd (Hons) from London University Goldsmiths, a Cert Ed from Laban, London, LRAD Royal Academy of Dance London.
