The Young Dance Leaders is a small group of selected young people aged 16-21, who meet at Storyhouse, Chester, to develop their skills in dance and learn more about the industry.

Through various workshops and activities, NEXUS creates the space for young people to connect with themselves, their ideas and with others, through dance in Chester and the surrounding area.

Selected young dance artists will take part in a packed programme that includes dance sessions, workshops led by industry professionals and an exciting two-day practical intensive.

The scheme also offers an additional mentoring opportunity, giving young dance artists personalised support as they explore their next steps in training or early career pathways. The programme is designed to inspire confidence and leadership in the arts.

Key dates for the 2026 cohort include the two-day intensive on 21 and 22 February, followed by full-day workshops at Storehouse on 8 March, 29 March and 19 April.
