Jody gained a Certificate in Education at The University of Greenwich in 1999 and trained in Community Dance at Laban London.
Over the past 20 years she has built an extensive and varied portfolio and has undertaken work for Laban, Greenwich Dance, Union Dance, East London Dance, National Youth Theatre, Magpie Dance Company and Cheshire Dance. She has also lectured in contemporary dance and choreography at Tameside College.
Jody first joined Cheshire Dance in 2007 as a Project Coordinator and today is the Dance and Health Lead Artist. She has extensive experience in working with children and young people with learning difficulties, complex behaviour and physical disabilities, as well older adults and those living with challenging conditions such as Dementia.
Her latest focus is on working to integrate arts, wellbeing and creativity into clinical settings through Chester University and working with Cheshire Wildlife Trust on a ‘Wellbeing with Nature’ programme. Jody also works with social prescribers to engage people with specific health or well being requirements.
Jody’s work is deeply rooted in community dance practice and she has a real passion for working with people within community, health, education and arts settings.
