Cheshire Dance is looking for a General Manager to work closely with the Director and the team to bring our artistic vision to life while ensuring the organisation’s long-term stability and financial resilience. This role offers the opportunity to join a passionate team within a dynamic, creative organisation.
A busy and rewarding role, this is a great opportunity to join a dedicated team and play an important part in a friendly, creative organisation and one that is already realising some of its bigger ambitions for dance and for creative, social and health outcomes.
You will lead our administrative team, report to the Director and collaborate across the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. You’ll manage our planning, evaluation, policy review and human resource processes and you’ll be collaborating with team members on driving positive brand awareness, supporting stakeholder events and ensuring financial control. This senior role in charity administration role requires at least five years of relevant experience, ideally in the arts or non-profit sectors.
You will bring strong organisational skills, an analytical mindset and a desire to improve organisational systems and administrative processes. With a proven ability to communicate strategic and operational matters in both verbal or written forms you’ll be able to inspire, listen and motivate to build positive and trusting relationships across the organisation and with partners and stakeholders.
Cheshire Dance creates opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to access dance and to use the art form to live healthier and happier lives.
From delivering dance classes in the community and providing professional training opportunities for emerging dance artists, to hosting events and festivals across Cheshire, we seek to remove inequalities and co-create the opportunity to experience the power of dance.
Cheshire Dance values diversity in its workforce as it does in its artistic programme. We aim to attract a mix of applicants from different backgrounds for this role, going further than simply reflecting the stakeholders and geographic areas we currently serve.
A registered charity, Cheshire Dance is funded by Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation and is supported by Cheshire West and Chester Council. Cheshire Dance is the lead organisation of Dance Consortia North West, Now Northwich and PMLD-Dance
