DESCRIPTION:Little Lights – Launching This Spring! \nWe’re excited to introduce Little Lights\, a brand-new dance project starting this Spring! \nBorn from our Spotlight Project\, this 6-week programme will run from 28th April to 9th June and is designed for children aged 8–10 years. Sessions will be co-led by the Cheshire Dance team\, and our Spotlight dancers. \nFind out more about our Spotlight programme here! \nLocation: New Images Youth Centre\, Winsford \nWho can join: Anyone aged 8–10 with an interest in dance – all abilities welcome! \nCost: Free to attend\, no booking needed \nWhat to expect\nEach session is fun and engaging\, including games\, learning choreography\, and creating your own dance. SUMMARY:'Introduction to Dance with People with PMLD' for Frozen Light Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Cheshire Dance are excited to be holding and facilitating our CPD ‘Introduction to Dance with People with PMLD’ for Frozen Light Theatre in Norwich. \nThis one day professional development workshop shares our approaches to dancing one to one with people with PMLD. \nPeople with Profound and multiple learning disabilities are non-verbal\, sensory specialists with idiosyncratic communication styles. As movement artists and creative practitioners we have much to learn from them on sensory being\, intention and communication. Dance Artists Ruth Spencer and Jane McLean facilitate one to one dancing experiences with people with PMLD through Wanna Dance? Dance Artist in Residency Programmes in Cheshire West as part of the Cheshire Dance programme. \nIn this one day professional development workshop they will share some of their approaches to dancing one to one with people with PMLD. They will introduce the Wanna Dance? programme\, share some of the underpinning research and processes and explore practical ways into one-to-one movement-based interactions and dancing with people with PMLD. \nBy artists for artists\, this day aims to bring together artists working with or\, with an interest in working with\, people with PMLD to share approaches\, knowledge and resources to enrich creative dance and movement experiences with people with PMLD.
