Andrés Peña – internationally acclaimed artist, dancer, musician and choreographer, will be teaching again in Manchester due to popular demand! Andrés, an accomplished and respected flamenco artist from Jerez, is recognised as one of the best teachers worldwide for the style of bulerias de Jerez and bulerias improvisation. His courses at the Festival of Jerez are sold out each year. Andrés is a popular teacher at all levels, from beginner to professional, sought after at flamenco academies in Spain and worldwide. He is known for his musicality, choreography, skill in teaching improvisation and emphasis on sincere and personal expression.
Andrés will be teaching three courses, each in two parts over the Saturday and Sunday:
Bulerias and improvisation at a basic level (‘basico’ in Spain, usually known as ‘improver’ in UK), for dancers or guitarists who already know the bulerias rhythm, not suitable for complete beginners;
Flamenco dance technique, suitable for dancers who have danced for two years or more, this will cover some footwork so shoes will be needed;
Soleá por bulerías choreography, intermediate level, for students who have danced soleá por bulerías previously and have several years of flamenco dance experience
