Reflexive conversations with a stranger

An insight into the role of the conscious dancer exploring the liminal space between choreography and improvisation when creating a score.

This encounter will be an extension of my research, sharing methods and recording the outcomes that you are invited to witness. I am interested in further exploring these methods in a facilitated environment, allowing you to engage and develop practice from my practical research thus far.

I will be sharing my process of researching into methods that gives consciousness to our action in order to experience its intentionality, in doing so elaborating a person’s sense of autobiographical self. A Taxonomy (Doing, Thinking, Feeling & Sensing) of the mind and body was developed in order to focus upon kinaesthetic sensation and metal image which clarified and grew ones autonomy in dance making. By working with improvisation and choreographic composition, the identified natural curiosities and habitual patterning of the present moment could be shaped and structured, creating a score through a language of the body that played with elements of risk and trust for the conscious dancer. The participatory part of this encounter will invite you to look at your own score creation from my shared practical methods.
