The Great Garden Carnival Parade

22 – 26 July 2015
The second collaboration between Cabasa Carnival Arts and Cheshire Dance at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. The return of the dancing butterflies and umbrellas adorned with fresh flowers. 23 – 27 July 2014
A first time collaboration between Cabasa Carnival Arts and Cheshire Dance. This colourful, vibrant parade took place twice daily throughout the RHS Tatton Flower Show, featuring floral umbrellas, native butterfly people and toe-tapping percussion to entertain visitors.

Members of Cheshire Dance's professional company were joined by a local youth dance group recruited specifically for the parade and drawn from the Knutsford community. Each parade culminated at the bandstand in Escape, where the carnival vibe continued.

Images of the parade have been posted in the gallery. See

The parade was organised and designed by Cabasa Carnival Arts, a leading multi-regional carnival arts organisation, producing large scale, spectacular outdoor work, which keeps the community at its heart.

The carnival home was in the “ESCAPE” zone alongside other festival delights including the best view of the show at the top of the wonderful ferris wheel.  Visitors browsed local creations in the Arts and Crafts Pavilion, voted for your favourite carnival-inspired container created by local schools and shopped for unique and unusual items in the Country Living Magazine pavilion.

"Was a fantastic process to be involved with, couldn't have done it without the support offered. The children had a fantastic time preparing and performing and it helped me to develop dance as an aspect of my teaching! Thanks!"
